People in Australia:

Receptionist gentleman from Egypt worried about his family now in Egypt (not so soft social revolution)
Taxi driver from Somalia who knew all about tennis and about Romanian football
Ageless student Nic from Ireland (Federation Square at midnight)
Sales lady from Chocolate World shop in Sydney airport (from Cyprus) , diabetic and could not eat chocolate
(her favourite: dark choc covered marzipan praline from Neuhaus)
Waiter named Sedan, of tatar origin from Constanta, Romania in Sydney at Peter Doyle restaurant in the harbour across Sydney Opera house - fled from Constanta in sept 89 after visiting relatives in Turkey first. Stayed in a UN refugee camp until jan 89 when he and his wife received the emigrant visa for USA and Australia at the same time. The wife chose Australia and here they are since then. Their daughter, age 10 at that time, joined them in june 1990.

Romanian cousins we met in Cairns:
Sara(easy going & communicative) from San Francisco and Corina (shy) from Sydney
Their grand mothers were first grade cousins so that  actually makes them  third grade cousins.
Corina 's family is from Buftea, (bunica Ioana Popa) Ilfov, and Sara ' s family owns a house in Busteni.
They met in Sydney 4 years ago when Sara came for a student exchange in Sydney.
Sara will come to Ro in August 2011 and Corina in December for Christmas 2011.

Hellene Young and husband GrahamShe is Canadian, works as a pilot at Qantas & writer of thriller novels (Shattered skies & Wings of Fear)
He works at the Courthouse in Cairns and is a character as described by Sue Taylor.
They are friends of Sue & Peter Taylor (British from East part of England). Half of the year are living in Trinity Beach (Cairns) and half in England.
46 yrs of marriage, 2 adult children, 1 grand daughter, Charity.
Sue did not want to celebrate the wedding anniversary. She actually, I quote her, asked Pete:
